Deeds and Wagner Win Big; Key House Campaigns DecidedState Senator Creigh Deeds won an impressive three-way race or the Democratic nomination for Governor, setting up a re-match with Bob McDonnell who defeated Deeds for Attorney General by less than 400 votes in 2005.
Jody Wagner, former Finance Secretary to Governor Tim Kaine, captured the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor with nearly 75% of the vote. She will face incumbent Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling in November.
In House primaries, it appears one incumbent, Bob Hull in Northern Virginia, was narrowly defeated by Fairfax School Board member Kaye Kory. Norfolk incumbent Algie Howell handily turned back a challenge from Lionell Spruill Jr., and Roanoke incumbent Onzlee Ware won convincingly with 69% over Martin “M.J.” Jeffrey.
